About the Author Michael Wood, Ph.D. (2004) in Islamic Studies, McGill University, currently teaches Humanities at Dawson College, Montreal. He has previously published articles on perceptions of the past in modern Egypt and Indonesia. He also has an academic background in the archaeology of the ancient Near East and has taken part in several excavations in the region.
